Through a GPS application has insurance IF asked parents across the country to report on hazardous traffic school routes. Since last year’s school have been made throughout 9100 celebrations nationwide.

not surprisingly, it registered the most dangerous school routes in Oslo, with the whole 1036, followed by Bergen (515), Stavanger (310), Trondheim (253) and Bærum (240).

Fredrikstad follows also close, and parents in the city has reported 222 roads they believe pose a danger to children.

– I Østfold towns there has been a huge commitment. I think that the points highlighted in the map are recognizable to people in the cities. It also shows that here there is a long way to go before it is perceived as safe, says Berge.

Cecilie Flo Jahreie have a daughter at Rødsmyra school in Fredrikstad.

– Skoleveien her are mostly safe, but she must cross a road that is plied the parents running children the school. Many are stressed and driving too fast, she said.

Flo Jahreie it is important that children have a safe route to school, and she also feel that this is something the school takes seriously.

– There are rules for where to park and drop off children to avoid dangerous traffic situations. The problem is that schools often speak to deaf ears, she said.

– The parents represent the greatest danger

For many parents who believe that traffic on some roads make schools without dangerous attempts namely to prevent the children have to walk these roads and they drive rather school.

that could only make matters worse.

iF has for many years done research on schools in the country about traffic on the way to school. Rectors will be clear that there are parents who represent the greatest danger.

– they’re speeding when they deliver children and the park in pedestrian crossings. The principals are very concerned that there should be serious accidents, says Berge.

In NAF they also have the same opinion.

– This will be a huge paradox. To safeguard your own child, you make the way to school unsafe for others when you decide to drive, says communications manager Inger Elisabeth Sagedal.

Sagedal also points out that those in traffic must take into account that children are not equally good overview of traffic as adults.

– we can put us on his haunches and see how much we get us traffic. Then we’re the size of a small school children, and it is very much one miss when one is small.
