The man’s name released – Altaposten

In a twitter message just before 10.30 on Saturday morning did the police announced that the deceased is Olaf Bellika, 62 years old and reside in Alta.

It was Friday afternoon it was initiated a search and rescue at and around Stourojavri, towards Biedjovaggi Kautokeino municipality. A man in his 60s from Alta, which have a cabin here, then been reported missing.

At the operations center in Finnmark Police confirmed operations manager Andreas Vesterhus early this and said that the man had been seen out on the water boat. On Friday, police contacted by people who had seen the boat again, out on the water. It had outboard down, without anyone on board.

Found dead

OPS notified just before 19.00 Friday that Sea King had found a person in area they scanned. No one else was then reported missing, but the casualties were still not formally identified at the time.

The man was transported to Kautokeino, and something later confirmed police via twitter that it was the missing.

his boat was found south of the island Stuorajar`cullo in lake Stuorajávri, while the man was found about a kilometer north of the island, the cape Cuollunjarga.

Lock and empty cabin

police received assistance from Sea King, the fire department and the Red Cross in the search, which started reasonably quickly after the report came in.

– We checked out the cabin of the man. This was closed and empty, and outside the cabin standing man ATV.

The family notified

The police were quickly on contact with family:

– We have been in contact with the man’s family, to inform about the incident and to look for information that could help us in the search, said Vesterhus to Altaposten in 18 o’clock Friday.
