After that høringsfristen has gone out on jakttidene for 2017-2022, Miljødirektoratet already concluded that looking at the svarttrost and måltrost not applicable. Close to 250 responses received can be seen came into the jakttidshøringa.

– Høringa have given clear feedback about that looking at the two trosteartene is not desirable. People have a close relationship with them as sangfuglarter. Many believe the hunting of them in small extent will be in accordance with the Norwegian tradition for matauk, says Miljødirektoratets director Ellen Hambro.

In just under 250 responses received can be seen came in before høringsfristen on jakttider for the five-year period 2017 to 2022. Both private individuals, organizations, municipalities and state agencies supplied the hearings.

Stable for the feet, trying

At the forefront of høringa updated Miljødirektoratet knowledge about bestandsstatus for several national target: the spread: A number of national target: the spread in Europe and Norway are experiencing major decline, where especially waders and passerines are struggling. Måltrost and svarttrost, however, have stable populations.

Whether or not a viltart in Norway get jakttid, depends on whether the population has a høstbart profit, is a høstingsverdig resource and that høstinga has the acceptance in the population. Together with felled as nuisance, and the desire to go wide out in the høringa, meant that the Miljødirektoratet chose to take with the hunting of the species in the høringa.

New jakttider in the course of the year

” We have had the hunting of gray and redwing for a long time without negative reactions. Bestandsstørrelsa made it natural to consider måltrost and svarttrost in line with these. The resistance is an essential consideration when we conclude to not open for jakttid on these species. Høringa is a part of the democratic process which gives us valuable input, both professionally and about the people’s legal opinion, ” says Hambro to Miljødirektoratets web pages.

Miljødirektoratet determines the rest of the new jakttidene for all pests in the course of the year. Jakttidene will apply from the 1. april 2017 to 31. march 2022.
