Ungdomspartiet requires permanent protection of LoVeSe. Støre promise to listen – the northern lights

Ap-leder Jonas Gahr Støre takes the requirement from the ungdomspartiet about the permanent protection of Lofoten, Vesterålen and Senja with ro. He will listen to all views towards the Ap congress in april.

– This fight starts now, beat the AUF-leader Mani Hussaini fixed when he opened the ungdomspartiets on Thursday.

With the party leader Jonas Gahr Støre on the first row, gave Hussaini a clear message to the partiledelsen.

– We have one very clear requirements. It will be the most requirement from the AUFs profile: the Labour party must once and for all – say no to oil drilling, and no environmental impact assessment of the vulnerable areas outside Lofoten, Vesterålen and Senja, says Hussaini to the NTB.

Klimaavtalen

AUF-leader showed in the speech to the klimaavtalen from Paris, where 195 countries agreed cuts in CO2 emissions to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees, compared with 1990 levels.

The agreement is not worth the paper it’s written on, if not the oil industry here at home also are affected. Oil drilling in the vulnerable areas is not consistent with the klimaavtalen that the entire international community have joined, ” says Hussaini.

Will follow the discussion

Støre says that he does not expect another from the AUF than the fact that they engage themselves for its protection-view of Lofoten, Vesterålen and Senja.

– AUF at its best has clear opinions and strong arguments that we would do well to listen to. In this case, there are strong opinions on both sides. We are going to have a democratic process towards a profile that shall take a position on this question. As the leader I shall follow the discussion, ” says Støre to the NTB.

Open outcomes

Hussaini admits that there is a match when the Labour party benches to united in april next year.

– Outcome is not a given. But when the entire AUF mobilises, together with the environmental movement and the increasingly more in Ap who want a forward-looking policy, then I am convinced that we shall win this fight, ” he says.

Støre says that the Aps partilag in the north shall discuss the matter from their perspective, without bias from the partilederen.

– So it may be that I’m going to have views on this matter when we are approaching the congress, but not now, he says to NTB.

Predictability

AUF-leader says that the protection of the vulnerable areas is also good fordelingspolitikk.

– You can have as good fordelingspolitikk you want, but without that we ensure the earth’s future, does it not, ” says Hussaini.

Case arouses a strong commitment that touches on questions about the environment, management, industry, jobs and activity. We are a country with many natural resources, and with the high level of awareness of the responsibility we have for the exploitation of these resources. Those who have a point of view in the direction of industrial activity also has the right to be heard and taken seriously, sounds Støres comment. (©NTB)
