– Thanks to an anonymous tip, police in Bergen in Norway secured a jernport with the well-known text, informs the state police in Bavaria to the news agency AFP.

– from the image that is sent to us, believe the police that it is highly likely that this was jernporten that was stolen from Dachau, ” adds the German police.

Dachau camp was opened in 1933, only two months after Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany. The camp was originally intended for political prisoners, but became a dødsleir where over 41.000 jews were killed during world war ii.

the Text “Arbeit macht frei” – work makes you free – hangs over the main gate to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp in Poland. The sign was stolen in 2009, the Swedish nynazisten Anders Högström was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for.
